3M Window Film Prestige Exterior Series applied to residences of US Ambassadors in Europe
14/12/2011
3M announced Dec. 1st the forthcoming installation of its Exterior Window Film Product on an additional nine European US Embassy Residences as part of the "EE Sweep of Europe" Initiative. This follows 3Ms involvement in the Energy makeover of the official residence of United States Ambassador to Belgium Howard Gutman in April and the drive from the League of Green Embassies to further improve the energy efficiency of official residences across Europe. The EE Sweep program is designed to highlight a number of energy efficiency technologies that may be used to reduce the energy consumption of old and new buildings and the Prestige series of Window Films from 3M is an ideal solution for such initiatives in Government or Industry.
The Prestige Series is based on unique nanotechnology consisting of hundreds of thin, non-metallized layers for high performance sun control and glare reduction without increasing the reflectivity of the glass. “The League of Green Embassies is a prestigious undertaking that allows us to demonstrate the energy savings and comfort benefits of this new product that is well suited for double and triple pane glass in any market throughout the world,” said Pam Kellenberger with 3M. “We are incredibly honored to participate in this project supporting the League of Green Embassies efforts.”
The Exterior Prestige Series is highly transparent, enabling superior heat rejection without compromising interior views or the overall building appearance. Internally, and over time, UV rays, solar heat and visible light can irreversibly fade fabric and upholstery on couches, chairs, rugs and natural wood floors. The Prestige Series also reduces the effects of solar heat and visible light on furnishings, and will block up to 99.9 percent of the sun’s harmful UV rays – the single largest contributor to fading.
