Networking and Fun Mix at AmCham Christmas Party

New Symphony Orchestra, Kiril Marichkov and BTR Perform up to Midnight

AmCham Christmas party has always represented two in one combination where networking opportunities mixed with fun at yearend. This time the unique mixture formed in particular with about 1,000 guests: member companies, partners, government reps, media who gathered December 7th, 2011 at the Royal hall of the Sheraton Sofia hotel.

It was even before half past six in the evening when the guests started to arrive at the party venue. AmCham staff welcomed them with small ring bells and stars made by Logos educational centre. A quartet of the New Symphony Orchestra greeted the audience by performing classical music pieces.

It was the perfect time to meet and talk among business partners and friends. Among the guests at the party were Petya Evtimova, deputy education minister, Tsvetan Simeonov, BCCI, Tove Skarstein, ambassador of Norway, Borislav Stefanov, Bulgaria Invest Agency, William Pennington, first secretary of the US Embassy in Bulgaria, James Warlick, US ambassador to Bulgaria, Susan Sutton, deputy chief of US Mission, Solomon Passi and his spouse Gergana Passi, Irina Yordanova, director projects & public communications CEIBG, Bernard Moscheni, CEO, Vivacom, Borislav Boyanov, Boyanov&Co., Anthony Hassiotis, CEO, Eurobank EFG Bulgaria, Tanya Kosseva-Boshova, CEO, ETC, AmCham Board members: Daniel Berg, EBRD, David Butts, CMS Cameron McKenna, Mihaela Kalaydjieva, Vivacom, Atanas Garov, Colliers International, Krassimira Chemishanska

“Let us use this unique venue for networking this evening”, said Peter Lithgow, AmCham president at his opening remarks. He further wished to all of the members and guests a Merry Christmas and to remember those people who suffer more in difficult times.

“No speeches tonight, it is the time to celebrate”, said in his turn the US Ambassador to Bulgaria James Warlick.

Valentin Georgiev, executive director of AmCham invited to stage the rock legends B.T.R.: lead vocalist Atanas Penev, guitarists Kiril Bozhkov and Slavcho Nikolov, bass player Ivan Kalfov and drummer Iliyan Dikov. The surprise of the evening was the famous musician and singer Kiril Marichkov of “Shturcite” (The Crickets) band who performed together with BTR a range of repertoire of “Shturcite” rock classics. The party was kindly supported by Black Sea Gold Pomorie, Coca-Cola, Johnie Walker, and Vivacom.
